Vickie Mckisic is one of the best writers and singers in the city of Atlanta,Georgia. Upbeat and enthusiastic, she is often referred to as "lyrick". these traits first became apparent during her reign of creating songs with an atlanta based independent producer named Reginald Griffin in the early eighties. together they wrote, produced, arranged, and performed over 100 songs for themselves as well as many other artists. one of which was former Tabu Records recording artist Kathy Mathis. in 1987, Vickie co wrote Kathy's second twelve-inch release entitled :Baby Im Hooked. this brought her recognition as a writer in the August 1987 issue of Billboard magazine. in 1996 Latocha Scott, of the singing group Xscape, introduced Vickie to Grammy Award Winning songwriter and producer Daryl Simmons of Silent Partner Productions in Atlanta, Georgia. as a result of this union Vickie's writing and vocal talents have been displayed on a movie soundtrack "The Associate" starring Whoopi Goldberg, featuring Wynonna Judd, major recording artist cds: Arethia Franklin "A Rose is Still a Rose", Cece Winan, "Everlasting Love" Diana Ross "Open Window" Ann Nesby and Chante Moore and Kenny Latimore , "Is It Still Good To You",(soundtrack for the play''Things That Lovers Do", radio and television jingles, BET, Kiss 104.1 in Atlanta, Georgia, Bronner Brothers Hair Care "African Royal", Ministries "The Right Now Word" and "The Stroke Song,"(featured on AirJesus.Com) and The Kickstand Bar and Grill,in Stone Mountain, Ga. and on other recordings of many local artist and labels. Originally from Georgia, Vickie began singing and writing at about age eight. she began her career by singing in church, in talent shows, fronting r&b clubs and later entering competitions with radio stations for consecutive years, she placed in the National Budweiser Showdown Competition. Each year her songs advanced to the finals. her first solo single, "Burning Hot" in 1987 charted with radio station Kiss 104.1 in Atlanta, Ga in the Black Radio Exclusive Magazine. in 1990, she was honored in Echo Magazine in London, England for co-writing five songs on the self-titled "Synethia" blues album. In 1999, Vickie was privileged to accompany recording artist Jesse James "Mr I Can Do Bad By Myself" of Gunsmoke Records on his summer tour. performing with such artist as Marvin Sease, Little Milton, Jay Blackfoot and Rufus Thomas. Vickie seriously believes that faith, dedication, persistence, patients and knowledge are key essential factors for her rise and success in the music industry. She aspires to utilize her talents to achieve worldwide recognition as a successful vocalist, actress,songwriter and producer. |
