Talley Summerlin’s songs are about protest, possibility, life as it is, and the world as it could be.

He was once lead singer and lyricist of a band called BE. They recorded six critically-acclaimed DIY albums of modern rock music from 1989 to 2002. The band’s swansong, Thistupidream, was one of the best reviewed self-produced, independent albums of 2001.

In July, 2012, he released a 3-song EP called Shake the Gates. To record and produce this new EP he collaborated with veterans who have worked with Grammy-winning artists Seal, Sheryl Crow and Shawn Colvin.
