Scoop the Freak began as an independent rock duo from southern New Jersey. Drawing inspiration from folk and rock as well as from early blues, they have woven a classic flavor into a sound that is nonetheless both current and accessible to a wide range of audiences. In the fall of 2010, founding members, Sage LoBianco and Rob Harkins finished production on their first full length album, a self titled LP.

Sage and Rob have since discovered a handful of exceptional musicians from professional backgrounds with which they have been rehearsing to begin gigging in the very near future. Using word of mouth and internet social media, they have built a respectable grassroots following for their music within a very short period of time.

In identifying the music of Scoop the Freak, one finds that it is a slippery beast to capture. One song may bring to mind visions of the 1960’s, while the next drags your ears to a completely different era on the timeline of rock and roll. Still, all the while it is extremely cohesive. It is simply Scoop the Freak.
