SongVault Artist Profile

I was born in Russellville Arkansas In 1933. I was raised the son of a sharecropper near Sikeston Missouri. I joined the United States Air Force at the age of 17 and stayed there 22 years. When I retired from the Air Force I settled in Fayetteville, North Carolina where I worked for kelly Springfield Tire Company and later became a Real Estate Broker. When I left North Carolina I moved to Southern California and retired there as a General building Contractor. I am now retired in Harrison Arkansas.

I started writing songs and playing music publically at age 30 and I've been at it ever since. Some of the songs I'm adding to this station are by other artists but I wrote them and all else is a work for hire. The highlight of my career was when I was stationed on Okinawa, Mell Tillis was there too and I got to sing a couple of songs with his Band.
