New Sisters starts as a vocal group in october 1999 to enjoy the power of gospel music.
Now composed of 9 girls, the group has in its repertoire more than 30 songs taken from spiritual tradition.
The songs are performed in the original language and together with a musical base, while, some of the songs are performed a-cappella, that’s to say, just vocally.
In its concerts the group offers not just a show but a chance of meditation and spiritual and emotional involvement.
In 2004 New Sisters created a cd-project, called “HOPE OF LIFE”, to help people fighting every day against hunger, sickness, and war.
Thanks to Gruppo Missionario of Podenzano the project can reach Africa, South America, Asia and Europe.
The cd, with a booklet inside with all the infos about the project, since today sold more than 2.000 copies, that’s more than 18.000 Euro devolved.
At the beggining of 2007 Luciano Monari, bishop of the Piacenza - Bobbio diocese, granted legal aid “ad beneplacitum” to the activities of New Sisters.
Now the group is recording a new album still with a social aim.
