MR 285, born Dontea Banks in Atlanta, GA, began his music career in high school when he opened up for JT Money (Rap Artists) at a show in Florida. Since then he has opened up or performed alongside several artists including D4L, Khia, Travis Porter, and Three 6 Mafia. In 2009, MR 285 began to focus on his music career full throttle. He became affiliated with production and artist development company Kuntry Klub Music, LLC. Under Kuntry Klub, he recorded two EPs, Privileged and Celebration, shot several music videos, posed for several photo shoots and worked with the who’s who of producers around Atlanta including Miykal Snoddy, JSky, and Beatsmith Production. Mr 285 also acquired a clothing endorsement from Exclusive Game Clothing, a company that styles several major artist including Maybach Music Group’s Rick Ross. He has also performed at several showcases and other music venues, where he was often invited back because of his fiery stage presence and ability to please the crowd. His music has also been spun on several FM and blogtalk radio shows. He has received verbal endorsements from several prominent DJs including DJ Jelly of Oomp Camp Records, DJ Greg Street of V103 Atlanta, DJ MLK of Grand Hustle, and many others. In 2012, MR 285 parted ways with the Kuntry Klub brand and became affiliated with Flight Crew Entertainment. Under Flight Crew he has been pushing his newest single with Atlanta artist Mucho Friio called Gosh O Moley. His song has been played all over Atlanta, nightly, at several respected clubs including Club Primal, Taboo2, Luxe Ultra Lounge, Sutra Ultra Lounge, and Encore Atlanta. He also continues to perform throughout the Southeast region. MR 285’s drive to be successful, plus his love of creating music, is unparalleled. Like his stage name suggest, MR 285 is willing to go all around the city of Atlanta to spread his brand.
