Mahanaim Satya is an accomplished bassist and is well established in the San Francisco Bay Jazz fraternity. After fifteen year absence from public performances he returned 12 years ago playing his first instrument, the piano and formed the group Jazz Philosophy. After establishing this group he returned to playing the bass an instrument that he truly loves. This brought about the recording of a set of CDs entitled the Rhythm Section a total of six in all. The idea was to pay homage to the great Rhythm Sections of the late sixties and early seventies. The Best of Volumes I & II is a compilation of these six recordings sessions featuring the best and the brightest pianist and drummers in the San Francisco Bay Area

Derreck Phillips (drums) and Devin Hoff (bass) join band leader Naim Satya (piano) to create these memorable moments in Jazz.
