Christopher “Christylezz” Welch is one of the top emerging performers out of Chicago. He serves as a double-threat, both singing in his Donny Hathaway-inspired soaring style as well as freestyling over a smooth hip-hop beat. Born and raised on the near west-side of Chicago, he did as many in the R&B music world; singing in church. Performing in a variety of musical situations growing up, he gravitated to the greats in R&B, particularly Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder.

Now after years of honing his skills in varios choirs and bands, Chris is ready to emerge with is partner Demond Nicks as an artistic force to be reckoned with. He has recently toured in Italy and Switzerland with the Walt Cunningham group, as well as performing for Harpo Productions as part of the band “On the Fly.” He is currently the feature vocalist of the band The Velvet Jimi’s, and is featured on their recent debut album. Working with Nate Johnson and Vital Productions, as well as Lo-Jazz Productions, Chris and Demond are ready for their shot at the top of the charts.
